Moody Lighting

My kids love skulls. They once saw a neon pink one in a trendy decor catalog, and they've been obsessed ever since. I even once overheard them calling Skull on their play phone to see when he would be coming over to play. Kids are weird. It goes without saying that they love these skull lamps that currently adorn our mantelpiece. They're quick to make and provide dinner conversation for the toddler set. And maybe adults, too?

What you will need:

STEP 1: Lightly glue the skull template to the black foam sheet.

Cut along the lines using your craft knife. It's easier to cut the inside details before cutting the outside edges.

Remove skull template.

STEP 2: If working with white drink bottle, cut off top portion in order to create a stable base. Using a marker placed on a stable surface will help create an even guide.

The local store stopped carrying this particular yogurt drink, so I ended up scouring my home for additional clear containers and came up with a clear acrylic cookie tin and an old spaghetti sauce jar. For these containers, I simply cut a strip of white paper to wrap along the inside surface.

STEP 3: Adhere black skull cutout onto container. Insert tea light. Marvel at your own craftiness.
